O Dear...

I have laryngitis. I've had it since Tuesday. I have no idea what this will mean for all of us...but...My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to record tomorrow.

Think happy thoughts...

Update, Dateline, Nov 3:
I can talk but only for about 10 minutes at a time. I'm going to start putting the 'Cast together in bits and pieces and we'll hope it'll be done by the usual weekday.

The doctors have no idea what's wrong with me.

At times like this I wish I smoked so I'd at least have an excuse. Of course, the scary excuse is this one.

  1. Get Well Soon! And don't worry about not recording, resting your throat is much more important.

  2. Oh, I feel for you Heather! Aside from the whole recording issue, I have had some of my more difficult parenting moments at times I have had laryngitis.

Even if you have to delay recording, you need to rest that throat and avoid talking as much as possible until it resolves.

  3. Get well soon, and don't stress yourself, as much as we all want to hear from you -- we want you to be healthy so we can hear more from you!

  4. Please take all of the time you need. We will be here when you are ready to podcast again.

Oh, Sweetie! You sound so miserable in the blurb you just sent out.

Don't worry about us. Just focus on getting better!!!

Good literature is good literature whenever we get to talk about it!

Goodness! Heather, just eat your matzo ball soup and crash (she said laughingly as she thought of Heather being a busy mom and writer and teacher and wife). Please. We understand.

Instead of listening to CraftLit yesterday evening I spent a good 30 minutes reading your blog about 9/11. I was stunned. Sobered. Scared. Your wrote so well I felt like I was watching you as you made your way through that horrifying day. Your experience has been on my mind today and has prompted me to write.
I can completely understand the nagging thought that perhaps your laryngitis is a long term effect of inhaling the dust. It makes me sad (and a little angry) that after living though that day you -and many others - now have to worry about unknown health repercussions.
I hope by now you are feeling better. Thanks for giving me something so profound and personal to read when a podcast wasn't possible. Take your time with the next episode. I'm not goint anywhere!
